Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a very serious diagnosis, and the things I talk about on this blog (both from an education standpoint and a personal standpoint) are at times difficult to read. If you read my blog and you are triggered by your past memories, I strongly encourage you to stop reading, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask for an outpatient mental health therapist. I encourage you to work through your trauma so that you can live without an onslaught of flashbacks. While I desire to share my story with you and encourage you in your journey, the last thing I wish to do is send you into a spiral of your own past. Please take care and use discernment when reading this blog.
If you feel like hurting yourself or others, please call 911, go to your local emergency room, or call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.
